RARE VINTAGE ORTOFON RS 212 TONEARM FOR SPU CARTRIDGES AND OTHERS COMES COMPLETE WITH MANUAL, BOX, HEADSHELL AND MOUNTING HARDWARE Here is a genuine and desirable Ortofon RS 212 tonearm for use with Ortofon G type headshells and others with the SME type connection. There is some superficial corrosion on one screw and two marks on top of the arm tube/wand nearby the bearing housing, otherwise t he tonearm is in very good to excellent condition showing only slight signs of use. I can't find any play in the bearings and the lift works but for a perfectly smooth operation I think the new owner should give the lift a refill. Please study the pictures (excuses for the not so good quality of some pictures). Included in this auction is the RS 212 tonearm in its original outer carton (the serial no. of the arm tube does not correspond with that on the carton, sorry) with "styrofoam" protective insert, one Ortofon G type metal headshell of the later low profile type, the correct arm rest, one wrench for adjustment, the original instruction leaflet, mounting accessories including the metal alignment protractor and the little plastic box with tonearm base mounting screws and some other useful screws, spacers and extra headshell weights (no guarantee that none of the latter details are missing though) and the original tonearm cable. Included are also not only the normal additional screw weight of 32.6 grams for balancing the SPU G(T) but also a lighter weight of 25.0 grams for those heavy headshells weighing less than the SPU G! I have never encountered this weight before and include it for the winner to get extra flexibility. Don't miss out on this occasion to obtain a genuine Ortofon tonearm from the good old vinyl days.
