These vintage ceramic mugs were a premium given to pharmacists in the 1960-70s by drug manufacturer Schering-Plough. These were most likely made by McCoy, I have seen it listed in a McCoy book with advertising pieces. It's a deeply glazed brown, with the image of Cosmas and Damian, patron saints of pharmacists, on one side. A big "Rx" is inscribed on the other side. The mug is shaped like a mortar, and the handle, incised with the word Coricidin, is shaped like a pestle. Coricidin was developed by a U.S. Navy captain and made by Schering-Plough beginning in 1949. This might have been made to commemorate the 20-year anniversary of Coricidin. They are both in great vintage condition, no chips or cracks.
