Phillips Cycles Ltd enamel badge (1950’s) A promotional badge issued by Phillips Cycles Ltd. based on the company’s logo with the strapline ‘Renowned the world over’. Phillips Cycles were a major exporter to many parts of the world in their time.Phillips Cycles was founded by Walter Phillips in the 1880’s as a bicycle manufacturer and later diversified into powercycles and mopeds. The company remained in Birmingham until the 1980’s until they became part of Raleigh Industries.
