2 1/2" x 2" ORIGINAL PHOTOGRAPHFeaturing "BLACK MARKET BABE" Nose Art (#2 of 2) For your consideration is this unique ORIGINAL 2 3/4" x 4 1/2" photographic print featuring a World War II airplane (#168) with its signature "Black Market Babe" pin-up girl nose art. This P-38 was flown by Lt. Billy Gresham of the 432nd FS, 475th FG. Hewas killed on October 2nd, 1944 over Biak when, after bailing out, hisparachute failed to open properly. This rare and wonderful photo was snapped by a serviceman somew in the South Pacific. Believed to be taken on the Island of Moratai which was a staging area for bombing missions in N. Borneo, and later against targets in Cebu, Mindanao, and in the Philippines. Written on reverse: "Pretty pictures huh? Top one good pilot huh? 6 to his credit. No 2" Condition: excellent.
