PHOTOGRAPH HAS SOME WEAR, HAS A SMALL TEAR JUST ABOVE MAN' HEAD STANDING BESIDE THE JOCKEY.2. WIDOWERS BABY. COND. PACE 11/4/1967. OWNER: THE WE WIDOWERS STABLE. DRIVER TRAINER: RUSS BALDWIN. DOC. ROGERS 2ND, JAMIE BARKER 3RD.PHOTOGRAPHS MEASURE 8" BY 10". THEY HAVE SOME WEAR,SOME SMALL LIGHT CREASES, PAPER PULLS ON BACK, AS THEY WERE STUCK IN AN OLD PHOTO ALBUMWINDSOR RACEWAY OFFICIALLY OPENED ON OCTOBER 22, 1965 FOR ITS FIRST SEASON OF HARNESS RACING. Castle Direct driven by Fred Roloson was the first horse to win a parimutuel race at Windsor Raceway in a time of 2:10. The all-weather Tartan surface, new to the industry and allowing for winter racing, performed according to the best of expectations. It enabled racing in inclement weather (read snow, ice and cold) and earned the approval of horsemen.
