From a M id South E state....this vintage PLANTERS SALTED-PEANUTS Counter Advertising Display JAR . Measures 6 1/2" height x 8 1/4" width x 7" depth; kind of an oblong shape similar to a peanut. Apparently it is fairly rare, as I did not find a like one during my research time. There is no lid; the inner circumference measures 5 3/4", outer 7 1/8" as you may want to search for a lid that would fit. You can tell by the scuffs & scratches on the glass that this was truly used for counter sales. Also has one chip in the rim shown clearly in photos #5 and #6. An attractive piece for your kitchen or anywhere you choose to display collectables.
