Vintage PLATINUM 14Ktwg M-Ni b 1970s Dead stock 1970s Platinum Fountain Pen - It is Dead stock!!It is new...No use...It was b eing kept as parts b y the factory of PLATINUM. PLATINUM assem bled the Preservation parts recently. This Fountain penl won the Japan Ministry of International Trade and Industry good design prize in 70's. So, this is a chance that the PLATINUM fountain pen 30 years ago can b e o btained with the new article. It is a scarce fountain pen now. Shape, the Color, and the Atmosp of the product 30 years ago are very interesting. It is a very b eautiful making. Japan of 30 years ago was high economic growth period. The product at that time, t is zeal. I feel the b eauty of the metalworking of Japan at that time. The shine of simple Smoothness NIB is wonderful. Of course, writing feelings are very good!! Fountain pen made b y Platinum , Japan . Body and cap: A solid stainless steel pen. (The com bination of the b lack clip and the metal is smart.) Ni b is marked 14KWG. (Point size is Medium) NIB is made of Real white Gold of 14Kt. Length: Close cap 138mm Open cap 159mm Diameter 11.5mm Pen is suita ble for use with b oth ink cartridges and converter. We attach PLATINUM converter, PLATINUM ink cartridge and adapter.(Please show picture.) If you take this adapter, you can use European size ink cartridge. (MONTBLANC ， Pelikan 　 etc) So you can to get and use common converter easily. What a bout Platinum: Platinum produces a variety of Maki-E pens, including lacquer carving, pearl inlay and pens with the Kanshitu-rough volcanic -type surface. In 1919, Syunichi Nakata , a collector of imported fountain pens, opened a small fountain pen shop in Okayama , Japan . His shop b ecame very successful in a short period. In 1924, he moved to downtown Tokyo , adjacent to several pen manufacturers, and officially named his company Nakaya Seisakusho . The company exceeded earlier success and grew to nearly 80 employees. Later in 1924, Nakata changed the company name to the Platinum Pen Company . Platinum initially sold pens via mail order to office workers and teachers in small villages throughout Japan . Soon, they were exporting to Singapore , Hong Kong , and Java . During the mid-1930s, Nakata organized a group of commissioned Maki-E artists in order to create pens. Leading this group of artists was Rosui-Gyokusendou-Ohara , who many regarded as the top Maki-E artists of the period. Platinum produced a variety of Maki-E pens, including lacquer carving, pearl inlay and pens with the Kanshitu-rough volcanic-type surface. Some of these designs were enhanced b y gold coins. Platinum launched the first water- based b allpoint pen in 1948. The 50s, saw the adoption of Injection molding technology. By this time as well, Platinum's fountain pens were Japan 's num ber-one export. In 1957, Platinum first manufactured fountain pens that accommodated ink cartridges. In 1966, Toshihiro Nakata developed a roller b all known as the Auto Pen. By 1980, Platinum sold more than 1 b illion of these pens. During the 1960s and 1970s, Platinum manufactured leather pens called Amazonas , which were covered in snake, lizard, shark, crocodile and Surinam toad skin. In 1978, Platinum introduced its longest-lasting model to date, the 3776 fountain pen. Platinum named it in reverence to Mt. Fuji , which is 3776 meters tall. And in 1981, the New York Modern Museum of Art displayed Platinum's Z pen.
