Vintage POSTWAR 2055 LIONEL Locomotive STEAM Engine TRAIN 610 Erie NW2 Switcher This is a Vintage Lionel 2055 Locomotive Steam Engine with 610 Erie NW2 Switcher. We are pleased to present you a vintage Lionel 2055 locomotive steam engine with 610 Erie NW2 Switcher for your consideration. Lionel Corporation was an American toy manufacturer and retailer that did business from 1900 to 1993. Founded as an electrical novelties company, Lionel specialized in various products throughout its existence, but toy trains and model railroads were its main claim to fame. Lionel trains, produced from 1901 to 1969, drew admiration from model railroaders around the world for the solidity of their construction and the authenticity of their detail. The lot consists of the following: 2055 Steam Engine: The 2055 steamer was classified by Lionel as a Santa Fe-style Hudson. Made from 1953 to 1955. It's a mid-size steam engine and sold as an 027 gauge item. The 2055 remains a dependable and quality locomotive. 4-6-4 wheel arrangement with detailed driving wheel hardware, Magnetraction, three-position E-unit, headlight, smoke, wire handrails plus an ornamental bell and whistle. The trailing truck has a plastic side frames. Measures 11 inches long, 3 1/4 inches high and 2 1/2 inches wide. It comes with its original box and operating manual. Total weight is 4 lbs. 2 oz. We tested the locomotive and the engine works great but we did not test the steamer. The front headlight is not working. There are visible whitish smoke deposit on the body. The edge of the back roof seems to be repainted. There is also a missing green light in the front right of the train. Overall it is in good condition. 610 Erie NW2 Switcher: This was made in 1955. I has black painted shell, yellow lettering and yellow Erie logo, a single axle with Magnetraction , three-position E-unit (with the lever accessible from underneath the frame), dual operating couplers plus a gold ornamental bell and silver ornamental horn. Measures 12 1/2 inches long, 3 3/4 inches high and 2 3/4 wide. Total weight is 2 lbs. 6 oz. We tested the switcher and the engine works great. The body shows few scratches and nick. It also shows some dust which you can clean. Overall it is in very good condition. This is a perfect addition to your collection and will also make wonderful gift to any enthusiast.
