This interesting and rare pattern by Hall China is called 'Chrysler', and it does remind one of the Chrysler Building in New York City, which was considered a modern marvel in the 1930's, when this server was made. The beautiful Art Deco plate has an irridescent finish , and is free of all cracks, chips or fleabites. The handled metal casing is marked 'Forman Bros Inc Brooklyn NY' and features floral engravings and piercings. I don't know what sort of metal it is, but my guess is nickel silver, as it does polish quite nicely. It has not been polished for a few years. The handle works well, with enough tightness to keep it in place wver you want it, but not rusted or sticky on the hinges. Professionally packed for safe delivery to you.
