RARE Vintage Falls City Beer Powder & Rogue Compact Up for your consideration is this Very Rare Vintage Ladies Powder & Rogue Compact. It is in original clean condition. The Falls City Beer Co. was established in Louisville, Ky. in 1905 and closed in 1978. It suspensed production in 1919 due to prohibition, and resumed in 1933. Ms. Lillian Madden was chairwoman of the board from the mid 1950`s until she retired. Prehaps she inspired the design of this little compact, or perhaps it is from a much earlier time. It does appear to be Art Deco. I have seen a lot of fall City memorabilia, but never a Ladies Compact. It is goldtone metal with the Fall City Logo on top. On the logo it read: Fall City Hi Bru Beer. It has embossed gold on gold design on the top, and the back is engraved with art deco detailing. I thought it might in fact be gold, but I could find no marking on the piece. It has an old tin tpye two sided mirror and it`s in great shape. It still has the parchment paper over the rogue, the powder well is empty. It measures approximately 2 1/8" X 1 7/8". The condition is very good. It opens and closes perfectly. It has both powder puffs. This compact came out of an Estate of an elderly Louisville lady who collected vintage compacts for years and years.
