50 YEARS OF FILM ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK RECORDINGS OF THE GREAT SCENES AND STARS FROM THE WARNER BROS CLASSICS 1923 TO 1973 You could say it begins with Tomas Edison. With the Lumiere Brothers, George Melies and Edwin S. Porter. But that's the history of the whole film industry. The Warner Bros. story begins in Krassnashiltz, Poland, in 1883, when Ben and Pearl Warner decide to try their luck in America. Ben emigrates first and sets up a "Shoes Repaired While You Wait" shop in Baltimore. Within a year, he sends steamer fare for Pearl, daughter Anna, and two year old son Harry. Albert is born in America in 1884. Thereafter come Henry, Samuel, Rose, Fannie, Jack, David, Sadye and Milton. Before and after school, the boys work in the shoe shop, sell newspapers, and shine shoes on the neighborhood streets. In 1896, 14-year-old Harry sets up a shoe repair shop in Youngstown. The family follows him, and Ben Warner opens a grocery and butcher shop in Youngstown's Polish section. Boy soprano Jack Warner gets a job singing to the song slides at the Dome Theater...
