Up for auction is a vintage ReplogleLand and Sea 12-inch diameter, hardwood pedestal globe. As far as I can determine, this appears to be circa '70s – there are some countries on this globe that nolonger exist, or the names have been changed. Indicates Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) rather than Russia. This is a very nice globe, spins on two axes, light blue in color, has raised topography, and is in remarkably good shape for its age. Very minor cosmetic blemishes consistent with age. Base is a brushed bronze finish and also does show wear consistent with age. Overall height approximately 31 inches. LeRoy M. Tolman, Cartographer. Made in USA. I tend to package items in larger boxes that allow more room for protective padding rather than in the smallest box I can find and risking damage to your purchase. Also, please be aware that I am located on the West Coast, so the shipping costs will increase the further east the package heads (with the exception of flat-rate or free shipping). My standard method of shipping is USPS First Class Mail if 13 ounces or less and should arrive within 3-4 business days. If over 13 ounces, I will ship via USPS Parcel Post, unless I can find a less expensive method. Deliveries to the lower 48 States should arrive in 7-10 days… deliveries to other locations will take additional time especially if package needs to clear Customs.
