We are selling this wonderful ROBERT RAIKES Limited Edition COLLECTIBLE BEAR. This particular bear is MARGARET, she is a NURSE and dressed in the period costume of Florence Nightingale era. Each bear is individually CARVED, carefully JOINTED and beautifully fitted together (as stated in the attached paperwork). The legs are jointed, the arms are not. The face and the pads of the feet are carved from a golden colored wood with much detailing. The right pad is SIGNED by ROBERT RAIKES and as this is a LIMITED EDITION it is numbered W4166/7500. This bear is a collectible and not recommended for children under the age of 5 years. Margaret is quite a nice size, in standing position she measures approx. 16 inches tall. She is beautifully dressed in blue/white nurse's uniform, white apron with a red cross and cute white hat also with a red cross. Her fuzzy ears protrude through two little sewn slits in the hat. Her eyes are lovely and bright and she wears a lovely happy smile. She wears the Raikes Bears logo on the left sleeve of her uniform. The story of Robert Raikes beginning of creating his bears is attached in the little leaflet the bear wears. This is a hard bear to find especially in such excellent condition.
