Vintage ronson tall Canada , Canadian lighter Has a plaque, states "The Lake Superior Regiment" and Inter Pericula Intrepidi (Fearless in the face of danger) --- Art metal works, AMR on the vase, very old military, army Ronson, piece. Lighter is 3' tall Good condition and all in perfect working order, couple of wear marks. Needs flint and fuel. I'd guess this is from the 1920's or 1930's. I regularly sell lots of lighters, see them at my other items The Lake Superior Scottish Regiment is a Primary Reserve infantry regiment of the Canadian Forces. The regiment is Located in Thunder Bay, Ontario, and is part of 38 Canadian Brigade Group. The unit was begun in response to the second Riel Rebellions, and was originally the 96th Algoma Rifles. Also known as the "Lake Sups" (pronounced soups), the regiment was active in the Second World War. During the war, the regiment - then known as The Lake Superior Regiment (Motor), or LSR(M) - mobilized a Motor (motorized infantry) battalion for the 4th Canadian (Armoured) Division. The LSR(M) and the British Columbia Regiment (Duke of Connaught's Own) (RCAC) were the only Canadian land based units to score a naval victory during the Second World War.
