> Description: The "Windsor", first manufactured in 1953, was the only plastic-body pocket wick lighter ever manufactured by Ronson, and is considered rare. Seen in Ronson ads for only 2 years, copy on this model reads, "black onyx finish". Top and bottom metal parts are chromium plated. According to my Ronson book, "Most Windsors now have serious degradation of the plastic body." This fine example has no degradation, showing only light surface scratching. It apparently spent most of its 50+ years in a drawer or box! > Dimensions: 2" x 1 3/4" x 5/8" > Identifying Marks: On thumb lever: "Ronson"; On lighter: "Ronson Windsor Newark, N.J. U.S.A."; "U.S. Patent 2,481,195 " > Condition: Very good to excellent. Exterior finsih has minor surface scratches on black area. Chromium plating is excellent. Thumb lever snaps and lighter opens properly revealing long wick. Fine vintage Ronson! > Reference: Cummings, Urban K., Ronson The World's Greatest Lighter Wick Lighters 1913-2000, p. 51.
