Vintage Route 66 Hopi Indian Kachina Doll from the Fred Harvey Era. This Yei Katsina is in good vintage condition, with some paint fading and a smudge of black paint on the bottom front. These kachinas were made as souvenirs for travelers along Route 66 in Arizona. This one is a classic Yei, complete with a tableta (head dress). It is hand carved and hand painted. It is red, grey, green, blue and turquoise, with Native American designs and painted on beaded necklace. It measures 8 1/2" high and 2 1/2" wide. There are 2 pheasant feathers on top of the head and I think originally there were also feathers on each side and the top of the tableta. A fabulous piece of vintage Native American folk art from the Fred Harvey Era. Even YOU can take a journey on the highway that's the best, Route 66!
