Vintage genuine amber beads necklace. Given to my friend by her Uncle when he returned from a trip to Russia in the early 70s. Almost 27" of graduated amber beads. The largest center bead is 1 1/8" at the widest part (approx. 27mm). The larger beads on either side of the center bead are approximately 3/4" at the widest (approx. 19mm). The smallest bead is 7/16" (approx. 10mm). Beads in between vary from slightly over 1/2" (12mm) to slightly under 1/2" inch. Total Weight: 101.6 grams. I took the beads to a local reputable jeweler and had them weighed Another former jeweler/antique dealer is the one who gave me the $200 listing price. Many of the beads are opaque and some are translucent. There are interesting inclusions in some of the beads. Colors range from honey to butterscotch. The graduated sizes are relatively uniform, but the thicknesses are not with some being thicker and some thinner. The photos are considered part of the description. There is no clasp and I recommend restringing the beads for extra security as it is on a thin line, original to the piece.
