Up for bid is a " JAPANESE SATO CLOISONNE FLOWER VASE & LINER " bought in Japan in the early 1950`s. My family was stationed by the Air Force in Japan between 1952 & 1954, which is when this was purchased. This Vase is approximately 7 " by 4 " around. Printed on the bottom rim is the Made in Japan & the Sato " Star " Symbol with Sato Cloisonne printed out. The liner ( What the vase sits on- I don`t know if that`s the proper terminology so I`ll call it that ) is approximately 4.75 inches around ( see last two scans ). Condition- The Vase is in great condition with no problems to report. On the underneath of the base around the rim are serial numbers from my Mom registering this with the Police after some break-ins in her neighborhood. The Liner has a small 1/2 inch mark that looks sort of like a hairline scratch but it in no way diminishes the look of the Liner & it has no Police serial numbers. Conditions- I`m not a so called grading expert on something like this, but I`ve been collecting all my life & I think you`ll be happy with it`s described condition when you receive them. If for some reason you are not, I will refund your money & the initial shipping price once the Vase & Liner have been returned only if the Vase & Liner are in the condition they were when I shipped it. So if you are concerned, please be sure to purchase insurance. read more
