Up for auction is a fantastic vintage SCHAEFER Beer Light-Up Clock! We believe the clock dates from the 1950s and has a cool atomic look. It looks like a space ship or some sort of mod boat. The clock is a brass colored metal on bottom and a clear plastic clock face that illuminates when lit. The metal base has pinholes that the light shines through giving it a totally cool effect. It measures 12âe long by 8 1⁄2âe high. Clock is in working condition as we left it to run for about two hours and it kept pretty good time. T is a sticker on the back that reads: âeoeLocal No 714 Union Made Fabricatorsâe. Clock displays great but t are some condition issues that I will describe. T are two hairline cracks in the plastic clock face. One is small (about 1⁄2âe) and the other runs about 3âe along the bottom (see my pix) The plastic part is very sturdy and solid, not loose at all, so no physical problems from the cracks. On the bottom metal base t are two small corner chips (see my pix) The clock stands fine on its own. T is pitting on the metal from age. The Schaefer logo has some wear. The back protective plate of clock should be tightened but Iâe(tm)m not sure how to do it. The cord is original and it works but I always recommend having old electrical items re-wired for safety.
