You are bidding on a fantastic vintage F. & M. SCHAEFER BREWING COMPANY WOODEN BEER KEG ADVERTISING SIGN in excellent condition. Schaefer was one of New York's' premier beer manufacturers up until the 1960's. This is a very well made sign that looks just like an actual beer keg but is actually designed in a false perspective style. The sign measures app. 16" wide x 11-1/2" tall and 3-1/4" deep. The "keg" is attached to a base but also has 2 eyehooks on the back if you wish to hang it on a wall. The wood is stained brown with silver paint and has an attached metal plaque which says "SCHAEFER BEER AT ITS BEST" in white paint on an orange background. On the left side engraved into the wood it says "THE F. & M. SCHAEFER BRG CO NY". On the back is a small metal plate which says "NO. 471C THE F & M. SCHAEFER BREWING CO BROOKLYN, NEW YORK". As mentioned earlier, the sign is in excellent condition with some minor paint loss on the silver ribs and 2 small paint chips on the orange sign that do not detract.
