For your consideration, may I offer A most lovely Classic Art Deco Vintage Motion Alarm Clock by: Darling, Schmid-Schlenker Ballerina Dancing in Dome Made in West Germany circa: 1940s, post-WWII era This Alarm Motion Clock is absolutely Fabulous Looking ! You can see all the fine intricate details of the clock and Ballerina and they are perfectly beautiful! Note that she looks quite risque' as she is almost topless!! This is original exactly as she was made! The beautiful ballerina is in excellent condition, with her beige tutu which has tiny gold stars and gold bodice. her features are wonderfully hand painted and look fabulous! Even the datails of her gold ballet slippers are exquisite! When the alarm is set , the Ballerina should come to life .. and the music is supposed to play a lovely melody! she is supposed to twirl and dance up and down while her seperately hinged legs move independently! This is what is extra special about the this clock verses other antique ballerina clocks.. most ballerina clocks have solid piece ballerina and the legs are just a part of the solid figure. This ballerina, with her seperately moving legs moves up and down, as well as around and around, and seems much more alive! The mechanics are more complicated than an ordinary ballerina clock or music box mechanism. . It actually uses a small magnet that moves, hidden inside the clock structure.. It is hard to explain, and I don't understand it very well myself, but the effects are delightful ! Unfortunately t is something wrong, and I cannot get the clock to work. It needs some kind of internal repair, and is currently not working. The clock body is very nice, and dome is nice clear plastic,with fancy gold detailed trim. Physically the clock has been very well cared for showing only slight wear. The Crystal on the clock and Ballerina parts are very clear . Absolutely no cracks or noticable scratches that I can see, except one tiny crack by one bottom screw. I tried to show in one picture. I see slight age wear to gold trim, For an antique clock which I believe is more than 60 years old, it is very very nice, in my personal opinion! The clock face looks VERY good! Clock face has gorgeous art deco style gold numerals and trim . The clock hands and around numerals have glow-in-the dark details for night viewing. These details were hand painted, and look perfect as well. The clock face looks wonderful. It is truly lovely! The music tune is Gipsy Baron Waltz ! All original parts. Clock also has original music tag on bottom! Winding keys and knobs are all present. clock measures aprox. 3 3/4 inches wide by 7 inches high. This is an extremely high quality and rare vintage clock in none working condition. I must sell this clock as-is, and buyer accepts it as non functioning. This clock did work when I first got it, ballerina danced, and music was really nice! but now it wont run. I hope you can make it work again! It would be a wonderful clock to see and hear working again! This beauty was probably made in the late 1940's but I cannot garantee it's exact age. If anyone knows, please tell me, and I will share the information as an addition to this listing.. I welcome all questions and comments, as I love to learn more about rare vintage motion lamps and clocks. Now for the really fun part....
