VINTAGE SCOTTISH IONA SILVER LUCKENBOOTH BROOCH - JOHN HART JH - LOVE TOKEN This is a very beautiful Luckenbooth brooch by the renowned and highly collectable silversmith John Hart who was based on Iona and followed in the tradition of Alexander Ritchie.Luckenbooth brooches feature the entwined hearts topped by a crown and are an old traditional Scottish betrothal love token. So if you are getting engaged why not give this to your loved one - it has good age and carries with it the echoes of the past - so romantic. It is stamped 'JH' for John Hart. It is also stamped 'IONA' & 'SILVER' & obviously tests fully as solid sterling silver. Hard to date without a full hallmark, but most of the brooches I have seen with these marks and no hallmark are attributed to the late 1950s or early 1960s. It measures 4.5 x 3.5cm, weighs 8.9g and has a secure rollover clasp.It's in excellent condition commensurate with age and light wear.This is a 'Buy it Now' offer - if you like it don't delay - it may not be here when you come back. .........................................
