Up for Auction is this Wonderful Scrimshaw Boat!!!!!!!!!!!! The Boat is made from what looks like some sort of Animal tusk and is inscribed "SAIGON" on one side. I am thinking this is a piece of the Vietnam War memorabelia!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Got this at a sale with other military memorabelia. I have never seen anything like this in all my years of collecting. The sails look like they are made of some kind of thin shell. They are nailed onto sticks that make the mast. One shell piece w the nail is driven in is split. You can see it in the picture. (Upper left sail) It really is no big deal but I want to mention it. T is wire strung from the boat to the masts. A little dusty but, I did not want to mess with this for fear of bending anything. This little boat is pretty awesome and very unusual. WONDERFUL PIECE OF VIETNAM WAR MEMORABELIA, OR FOR THE SCRIMSHAW, OR FOR A MARITIME COLLECTOR!!!!!
