Vintage SEARS JC Higgins0 FLY fishing reel USA RED J C Higgins fly reel For your consideration is a 3 1/2" Sears J C Higgins single action fly reel made by Bronson. These aluminum reels were made for the ages. This specimen can be used to fish or displayed- the choice is yours. The reel, a bi-direction single action version which can be set up right or left hand wind, has a calipher clicker system- see photos. I have added grease & oil. The clicker engages but seems a bit weak, but it turns freely. No spool wobble. Considering its age it is in good shape cosmetically- very little obviuous paint loss or scratching. The reel measures 3 1/2" diameter by 1" wide and weighs in at 4.1 ounces empty.
