Sears Roebuck Golden Jubilee catalogue 1886 - 1936 Chicago edition 928 pages This is a fascinating look at American life in 1936. Nearly every product needed to furnish home, run a household, clothe the family and take care of the garden or farm implements is listed in this amazingly comprehensive catalogue. If you look closely at the items in picture 8 there is an early hair-straightener offered. It involves heating it over a can of sterno! Most pages are black ink on tan paper, some are colored ink and others are colored ink on white paper. There is one page with fabric samples attached which are still in excellent condition. The original order form and envelope are included and have no writing on them. There are two post cards attached to the book that are also in very good condition. The cover is bent and the binding is curved (see the picture). However, only two or three pages in the rear of the catalogue are coming loose. The vast majority of the pages are still tightly bound. Some have discoloration at the edges but most interior pages are in remarkably good condition considering the age of the book. Because this is an extremely old item it is offered in "as is" condition.
