Vintage Seth Thomas Brass Ships or Navy Clock Up for auction is this vintage Seth Thomas brass ship's or navy clock. It is marked on the front SETH THOMAS and at the bottom of the dial it is marked "Manufactured in the United States of America". It is not like the ship's clock that I usually see in that the top or face front is held by two chains that are attaced to the sides of the case. This clock also has a key which is used to wind the clock from the side instead of from the front. There no bells to this clock so it was designed only to keep time. The clock has an hour hand, minuted hand and second hand. The top does not screw down on the case but has a certain way it attaches and stays in place. It measures 7 inches accross on the front and 7 1/2 inches on the back. It has a fast and slow adjustment on the face of the dial and three holes on the back to attach to a wall. There are no marks on the back that I can see and there is some old paint residue on the back. If you have any questions, please contact me. Thanks for looking.
