Vintage Dual Desk Set - Great Condition! This amazing dual desk set has an Italian marble base in black marble with beautiful gold strands running through it. The heavy base is one inch thick, and 5 inches by 10 inches. There is a small paper label with the Parker logo. Research shows that the Italian marble base was one of the best offered by Parker in the 195os and 1960s.There is a small depression in the top center for paper clips and a long pen groove channel across the bottom to hold a pen.There are two brass swivel pen holders with black resin and a gold band, mounted to the base with friction collars inside of bass squares.One Sheaffer pen is a gorgeous 14 kt. gold bi-color nib fountain pen. Appears to be a fine point. This model, probably from the 1950's era, uses a rigid ink sac (probably filled from an ink well with an eye dropper). Writes smoothly and tests well. The 7-inch long pen screws into the pen holder to help prevent the ink from drying out. The upper part of the barrel has a small hole which probably helps "feed" the ink better.The other Sheaffer pen is a medium black ballpoint. This 7-inch long pen does have a small white dot on the upper barrel - probably to help distinguish the ballpoint from the fountain pen.
