LOCAL-PICK-UP ONLY or you arrange and pay for shipping.This is a beautiful & elegant upholstered shell back arm chair.The back of this one wraps around and along side you to block out any drafts. It is extremely comfortable.I bought a matched pair of these in 1986 from an elderly lady who said they had belonged to her mother. They were so old she was afraid no one would buy them.Lacking forsight,I never thought to ask exactly how old.I don't know w they were made,and have never seen any like them. If anyone has,please email,I would really like to know.I had them upholstered many years later in a very expensive heavy satin with a tapestry weave pattern.I took the bottom off 1 awhile back to get a look at the frame,and the best I can tell,the legs are part of the frame.T are brace blocks on legs,I could see nails,but no screws. So I believe they may pre-date 1900.I do know they had to be expensive when they were new,they are very well made.I have this 1 left,still to sell.When I had them redone,they had hand sewn cushion covers with no zipper. All interior stuffing is original,as is cushion stuffing.If it is salvagable,I do not believe it should be tampered with. Either side of the back is trimmed in fluted mahogany,as are the top & front of arm,then down to legs.Rear legs are curved & angled out. This piece is in excellent condition. read more
