Incredible Two-Tone Baby Blue Vintage Smith-Corona Galaxie 12 Typewriter and Case - Like New - Immaculate Condition - One Owner - Near Perfect The Typewriter and case are in EXCELLENT condition - the hard case has a scuff or two - and the 2-tone typewriter has nary a scratch - ALMOST LIKE-NEW. I typed a bit - the keys have great snap - the ribbon winds well - it's just all so right. The top cover is unusual - instead of one of those typewriters that "flips up" it slides toward the keypad to reveal the keyboard and reels. There's hardly a sign of use on the typewriter - and there's one strange thing that may show the care that was taken for the typewriter - If you look at the first photo you will see a small strip of masking tape along the edge where the cover meets the body. The original owner put a strip of masking tape on both sides - and it has most likely been there for 40 years or more - maybe to prevent scratches from rings or wristwatches - or WHO KNOWS? I'll leave the tape where it is ---- The typewriter has a black ribbon in the spools - and there's also a used black and red ribbon that is included in the auction - IN ADDITION TO A USERS MANUAL - AND THE ORIGINAL LOCKING KEY!
