For your consideration is a real nice Stanley Plane No. 4-1/2 in the original box. It also has a 10" barley smooth and 2-3/8" cutter. As for condition: Plane: It looks to be in very good condition to me although I am not an expert when it comes to rating planes. All I see are some small places where a little surface rust has darkened the metal. I am not sure what that does to the condition rating, so I will have to leave it up to the experts to decide. There are not very many places like this. I rubbed off a couple of tiny places where there was some very light surace rust and it left a dark place, so I assume the other few small places will do the same. As far as the rest of the plane, it does not look like it was used much to me. I see no dings, scratches, or anything like that. It almost looks new. Box: The box is fairly beat up and may have gotten wet at some point because of the stain on the top. There is a small file in the box that I will leave for the buyer.
