STANLEY NO.38 IVORY CARPENTERS CALIPER RULE This was found in an old shed on turn-of-the-century homesteaded property a family member just acquired. What I know of the homesteader family is that they moved from back East in late 1800's to homestead land in Washington State. The home & sheds are over 100 yrs old holding many treasures. Stanley No.38, Ivory Carpenters caliper rule, 6" inch, 2 fold. It has a square joint and has German Silver hinges and tips and a left hand caliper. The width is 7/8" and it is made of Ivory. It has 8ths, 10ths, 12ths and 16ths of inch graduations. This rule is marked with the rule model number and the STANLEY RULE & LEVEL Co., NEW BRITAIN, CONN. logo. Many of these semi-narrow rules are not marked with the Stanley name but this one is. The model number and Stanley logo is marked on the same side. This STANLEY logo is an older mark than your usual Stanley. Rule is in very good shape and is nice. All the pins are present. The graduations are all legible and clear, and the rule is in nice shape. All ivory rules are nice to find and those marked with the Stanley name are even better. Some staining/discoloration. If you want more pictures please feel free to ask and I can e-mail more.
