VINTAGE STERLING SILVER HEART CHARM/CLOSURE, 1940s This interesting charm or closure (it can be used either way) was included in a jewelry lot purchased at an estate auction; precise age is unknown, though we would guess that it dates from the 1940's, give or take a decade (which is actually more of a stab in the dark than a guess). The charm is sterling silver, marked only "STERLING," measuring 7/8 of an inch long and 5/8 wide, weighing 3.3 grams, heart-shaped, and appearing to be a padlock -- however, t is not now, and never has been, a key. It's a charm or closure, and it opens only at the old-style spring-ring at the top. The heart is hollow, and t are two air holes (both visible in our pictures). Condition is very good, with a little wear to the "G" in "STERLING," and with light scratches on the silver; the scratches would likely vanish with hand-polishing, but the need for polishing, in our humble opinion, is far from urgent. Combine with other items we are offering and save shipping cost. Buyer pays $4.05 for priority shipping in the U.S., or $1.50 if first class shipping is preferred, plus insurance if desired -- insurance required for purchases that total more than $25; international shipping cost to be determined. PayPal or money order preferred; checks held 7-10 days until cleared, unless your feedback rating is over
