This pair of vintage sterling silver earrings has several markings. They are marked on the bottom "UGT 925". The back of the post has what appears to be "5937" and letters..I can make out "EX". These could be Taxco, I am not certain, but the markings on the post are very worn and t are several. The bottom markings of UGT 925 are very clear. These are screwbacks. These are absolutely fabulous with cutout designs and look like a lantern design of sorts to me. Very modernist design. They have cutouts all around the entire earring. They are approx 1 1/4 inches long hanging x 1/2 inch wide. If you wanted you could remove the lamplight design from the top screwback as they are hanging by a sterling silver jump ring. You could then insert a wire and turn them into pierced earrings. These are in gorgeous condition. They are lightly tarnished, but I leave that up to the winner. I would call these medium weight. VERY high quality and if someone out t knows anything about them, please drop me a note. I am always curious!
