This is a vintage American sterling silver spoon that was made as a souvenir of the Lick Observatory on Mount Hamilton, California. The Lick Observatory was founded in 1888 and is part of the University of California. It is located on 4200' Mt Hamilton in the Diablo Range east of San Jose. In the bowl is the observatory and the handle is topped with an Indian's head. The reverse of the handle has the maker's mark of Paye & Baker and it is also marked 'Sterling' . The spoon measures 4" long, weighs 6 grams and is in excellent condition. Airmail postage to the U.S.A. would be $1.95, to the United Kingdom, Australia and other International destinations would be $3.49. Check out my other items for more sterling souvenir spoons!
