VintageSterling Silver Turquoise Set Thimble German * Mid 20th Century This charming silver thimble has a filigree band and is set all around with oval cabochons of real turquoise. It's solid silver and is marked "Sterling" and "Germany". It is gilded inside. It was made by Lotthammer-Eber and the top is marked with their 6 pointed star motif. The thimble is in mint condition with no dents, holes, repairs or other damage and the turquoises all look to be original. It's about an American size 8 (15 mm diameter opening) and is solid and heavy. Similar thimbles are shown on p. 119 of Bridget McConnel's book The Story of the Thimble .
