Up for auction is an original Bowser Model 585 "Regular" Electric Gas Pump that has been made into a Super Shell gas pump . It looks like it has replacement face plates. This pump comes with a bit later era nozzle and a new hose. The globe on top is a reproduction and has been made to light up. ( We have an identical mate to this pump running on another eBay auction, an "Ethyl" pump. If a person wanted to buy a pair of pumps for a gas pump island , etc. we would be willing to discount each pump $50 for a total savings of $100 if you purchased both Shell pumps together.) This pump stands approximately six feet tall in overall height with the globe on top.Although not a professional restoration, all in all this is a very attractive pump, especially from a distance (due to the vibrant colors), but there are several dings and dents in the body of the pump and on the doors; notice in the one side picture in particular that the door is rough at the top where it meets the frame. Also notice that some of the silver trim around the window is either missing and/or has had some pieces added (see the two pictures in particular). The paint coverage is really good and deep with few imperfections and runs. ( This is one of several electric and visible pumps that we have running on eBay as of the time we created this listing. The other ones can be seen on other eBay listings .)This gas pump belongs to Mr. Kenneth Boyd of Roosevelt , Oklahoma , and he is the one who found it. Mr. Boyd is 88 years old and has lived all of his life on the farm that has been in his family for over 100 years. He has been restoring petroleum products for several years now, having restored over 200 gravity-flow and electric gas pumps to date (among other restoration projects). Mr. Boyd would be happy to answer any questions you have about this particular pump. You may reach him at at home or on his cell at between the hours of 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM (Central Time) daily.
