I had a few of these yearsago and they sold quickly, mostly to BBQ folks. Issued as a kindling axe the heavy blade was designed to split slivers off logs to fuel field stoves. Measures 17 x 2.75 inches with a ¼ inch width at the top edge. This was made to be abused by hammering on the top etc. Full tang construction. Not pretty, with original forge marks on the blunt top of the blade. The sharpened edge is quite sharp. Carbon steel blade with birch wood handle. Marked with the famous Swiss cross. Weighs over 2 pounds packed.
