VINTAGE TAPE MEASURE CLOCK ROTARY MYSTERY DESK CLOCK This clock was officially called a Rotary Mystery Desk Clock, but commonly is known as a Tape Measure clock. The pointer indicates the time on the tape measure-like dial, which rotates while the pointer remains stationery. Herman F. Lux obtained a patent for this "combined clock case and dial" design on April 16, 1935. This clock has the patent number on the back (Pat No. D-95,184), but is not marked "Lux." This means that it is an early Lux model. Clock is all complete and winds up and runs well. Has a "fast/slow" clock speed regulator on the botton. The finish is worn, but it adds to this clock's charm. Would look lovely with arts and crafts or mission style decor. Also has a certain art deco appeal. It sits 5" in diameter and stands 3" tall, including the lovely copper finial. A very pretty and unique clock! Please view photographs closely and ask all questions before bidding.
