It would seem that the J.H. Thompson Cutlery Ltd. of Sheffield England was in business for just a short time in the early 1950s. Goins' Encyclopedia of Cutlery Markings lists them as one year only: c1953. Levine's Guide to Knives and their Values 4 th Ed lists them as one year only: c1955.Judging from the high quality of the knife it was probably too expensive to produce to be able to compete with the other well established firms of the time. The knife is from an accumulation acquired from a sporting goods store on Hastings street in Vancouver B.C. Canada. Overall length - 7-7/8 inches.Blade length - 4 inches.Materials - Brass guard, genuine one piece stag handle and an aluminum pommel.Condition - Unused with the original label still firmly attached.
