Not much is known about this rare Tiki art pottery ashtray but a similar one makes an appearance in Duke Carter's "Tiki Quest" book on page 148. Stylistically simple, it is reminiscent of the Japanese made Westwood line of Tiki. This artistically awesome ashtray is large, measuring about 8 1/2" long by 6 1/2" across, and made of a heavy red clay. The main glaze is a chocolate brown which is accented by a light pinkish colored drip overglaze. No markings are present. Ashtray is in excellent, displayable (this should be hung as wall art) condition. T are two small chips but they are on the ashtray's hidden underside.
