Here is a dramatic vintage modernist mid century modern TAXCO sterling silver pendant, made by famous designer Toño (Tono) for the Plateria Cecilia. The design is crushed stone mosaic inlay in shades of blue and green set in sterling silver, in the form of a sunburst or pinwheel. This large pendant measures 2 3/4 inches (7 cm) in diameter. I am calling the condition fair due to several small chips missing from the mosaic in the arms or rays, and a crack and some scratches to the mosaic in the center. These defects are hard to see unless you inspect it closely. Still looks great when worn! Please see the photos and read below for more.The piece is signed on the back Cecilia, Toño (Tono) and also Sterling 925 Taxco around the initials AC. It is stamped with the design number 81. The silver has a light patina which you may wish to polish. There is a dime in the first photo to give you an idea of the size.I have included a simple silvertone chain.
