I have a lovely old toolbox or can easily be a blanket box / coffee table It is made of pine and has a nice wax finish, it has a lovely shine and retains marks impressions etc that give each older piece its uniqueness. Has its lock, upper lid catch and key all this works fine so no problem locking the chest up.Inside is very clean it was a carpenters tool box not a engineer's so no oily stains. It has four sliding draws at the top which can hold an assortment of bits and bobs.These draws/trays slide from side to side, two of which have a lid which can be opened up. These draws can also be removed. Underneath the trays is plenty of storage space. In the lid are some of the old saws which I think are nice to keep in the chest as a topic of conversation if it was being used as a blanket box.If not the saws a still good to use Its has dove tail joints, stands on two runners underneath similar to the top runners, so has no rot or woodworm from standing on wet floors I think if this was set next to a roaring fire with with books and tea cups placed upon it on it it would enhance any room. It has been around for a good number of years circa 1940 - 1950 so will have marks etc there are a couple of round marks on the lid which I have tried to capture in the photos but they do not always show up well.
