Item: US Issue Cold Weather Survival Kit NSN 1680-00 This excellent, COMPLETE, kit is in superb condition. Everything looks as though it were the original pack-out. T may be some replacement items in but as far as I can tell a lot of these packs were modified a bit by the airmen who used them. Originally intended to be deployed in naval emergency bailout situations and used by nearly every USAF and USN aircraft in operation during the early to mid 80's, these provide a full array of survival gear for a single crewman. These were mounted to ejection seats or were attached to bailout parachute rigs to provide everything the resourcefull airman needed for short term survival.Please see the pictures below for reference.
