BEAUTIFUL UZBEK SILK HANDMADE EMBROIDERY SAYO-GOSHA Since ancient times each Uzbek woman makes an embroidery as it is very important part of the Uzbek culture and traditions. Embroidered articles widely adorned dwellings and small household articles. Each piece of handmade embroidery is a real masterpiece, which has been made with skill and love. The Uzbek embroidered samples amaze with the skill of embroidery and a variety of patterns, that is why it became so popular all over the world. This one item is a perfect sample of Uzbek Silk handmade embroidery called "Sayo-Gosha". The region of the item is Surkhandariya, the South of Uzbekistan. The approximate date of producing the item is 1960s. Such small textile is a part of the coverlet that was used for covering the beddings, that were stored in yurts during the day. They were kept in piles against the wall, covered with bugjama. And one corner of Bugjama used to be decorated with the small "sayo-gosha". The Silk embroidery is hand-stitched on cotton fabric of black color. The pattern of the embroidery is composed of rich multicolored blossoms and geometric medallions. The botom part of the item is decorated with nice handmade embroidered pendants with tassels. The edges of the item are decorated with nice handmade fringe.
