This necklace is a true BEAUTY. Some women like overstated, some like simplistic. This is one of those timeless pieces that could be worn with a little black dress, but casual to wear for daytime also. MOTHER'S DAY is TOMORROW, but I bet Mom would forgive this gift if it was a bit late! That's also the nice thing about this piece; it could be worn by a younger lady or a little older. Or SHARE!!! Let me tell you alittle about this piece. I picked it up at the Ft. Lauderdale Annual Antique Show, along with some other pieces. It's appraisal value is $300! "Vermeil" as I stated above is just a fancy way of saying Gold plated Silver, which was common during the time period this necklace was made. Garnets in piece number 42 (forty-two,) 2-4 millimeter, brownish red GARNETS! The piece weighs 4.6 pennyweight. (I will add gram weight later tonight, I'm used to dealing in pennyweight.) Measures 15" in length, which is short, but if desired, your friendly neighborhood Jeweler could always adjust length. The Garnet midsection measures 3 " in length. AND! AND! AND! Whoever buys THIS Garnet Necklace will receive for FREE, the "matching" Earrings. (They are not a perfectly matched set, I did buy them together. Same look, same time period.) They go together VERY well, or wear seperate! These earrings are the same Gold plated Silver as necklace.
