Welcome to Grandma's Jewelry Box Vintage Victorian Red Glass and Brass Enamel Necklace Ravishing RED necklace measure 65-1/2 inches long. Lots of beautiful things going on in this piece.... Giant red faceted stone is 1-1/2 inches across and 3/4-inch high. The chain portion is 1/2-inch wide. T are two pinkish red baguettes along the top and bottom of the stone. Enameled flowers and leaves accent the centerpiece. The right side filigree "prongs" holding the large stone (in photo above) looks like it has bent inward. I cannot tell if this is a flaw, or from the manufacturing process. Just thought I would mention it. Chain is brass links with saucer shaped beads and brass filigree spacers. I found one tiny spot of verdigris on one brass ball bead. The rest of the necklace is verdigris free! T are a few fleabites along the edges of a few spacer beads. Nothing major. T is a light scratch on the surface of the big red stone. Some wear to the back commensurate with age. I would have bet money this was Czech, but I could find no signature.
