Vintage 1949 Hard Plastic Vogue 8" Strung Ginny "Toddler Gingham Series Daughter #8-21C" Factory Original Dressed Doll with Complete Original Outfit-Factory Stapled Braids - Adorable Painted Eye Doll~ Pretty Red Plaid with White Apron (Mock Pinafore Look), Oil Cloth Center Snap Shoes & Socks Very Good Condition Overall ~We are offering an adorable early strung hard plastic painted eye 8" Vogue Ginny from 1949 Gingham Series named "Daughter" #8-21C. You can see an example of this doll on page 15 of the new Ginny reference book entitled "The Colorful World of Ginny" by Barbara Clark available on Ebay. This sweet doll is wearing her original tagged outfit & is in very nice overall condition & a doll not often seen offered with the original stapled braids on top of her head. She is considered "used" and most likely admired, gently played with and then stored but is still in amazing condition for being over 60 years old; a sweet doll looking for a new home.Ginny is hard plastic 8" doll marked on her back Vogue Doll. She is a painted eye with very light lashes and brows but there. As is fairly typical with some of these early painted eye dolls she has virtually no cheek blush. Her hair is in the original set with the typical stray hairs which are the norm with these mohair wigs and especially with this style; braids brought up and factory stapled at the top of her head and bow for decoration. She poses well as you can see in our photos. She is the daughter from the mother/daughter group where Vogue dressed a 14" doll in the same outfit and you can see some examples in the Izen/Stover book entitled "Collector's Encyclopedia of Vogue Dolls". All fingers intact with no breaks or issues. Ginny is wearing her tagged plaid dress with white organdy and red trimmed ruffled straps with a tie around matching apron (see photos of tag, back of dress). She wears her matching plaid panties with good elastic, no drooping. Colors are still nice and bright, not faded. There are no mends to the dress noted, no tears and no stains. Organdy is still nearly white and not replaced. We are not the original owner so we do not know for sure if this outfit was ever laundered; it could have been, and if so, done nicely but possibly not, so we are mentioning just in case this might be an issue for anyone. Ginny's center snap shoes and socks are good with strong snap attachments, no repairs. Her shoes are slightly dry from age (not awful) and show a little bit of indent on the front. This is because years ago they used the plastic stands with the spring that went across and it tended to flatten some areas of the shoes out. This is not bad and should, over time, get back into shape since we took the spring stand off a while ago; soles are smooth. You are bidding on "Daughter" as described and pictured. A complimentary stand is included so you can display her right away to enjoy.Daughter is not a mint in box doll or never played with; she comes to you as you see her, well taken care of & with a complimentary stand so you can display and enjoy her. If you have to have everything just so, than she may not be for you. Being sold "as is, shown & described, final sale". We encourage questions so there is no disappointment but we do believe that she presents nicely and is somewhat elusive compared to other Ginny dolls Vogue produced due to the unusual hairdo. Please bear in mind that these were made as play things and toys so there may be factory flaws, skips or small things in the making that are hard to detect and not particularly noticeable; but not from play or wear and tear.
