Vintage VRS100 Guitar In Transparent Purple A Vintage VRS100 electric guitar. This is the Vintage take on the PRS and is a very playable guitar. This one is in a transparent purple/black. On the front it is quite purple but on the back it is black. It has 24 frets and two humbucking pick-ups. The tone control knob can be pulled up to split the humbuckers and give single-coil sounds. Overall, it is in very good condition. There are no dents, dings or deep scratches. There are a few very light scratches on the back (you can't even see them on the photo) and they are mostly on the vibrato cavity cover plate. There is one more significant flaw and that's shown in photo 3. The paint has cracked away at a corner of the vibrato cavity - probably because someone tightened the screw up to tight. For its size, this is quite a heavy guitar - heavier than my Strat. That's because the body is made of maple rather than alder, I believe. I think it's a quilted maple top on a solid maple body. They use poplar on the latest models - I suppose because it's cheaper. Have a look at the reviews on . I have to get rid of some of my 27 guitars and this one is a prime candidate because I don't use it and someone else would probably appreciate it.
