Very nice, in my opinion, vintage William Rogers Sheffield England Bowie Knife with leather sheath (I don't think the sheath was original to knife, but it fits reasonably well) The leather sheath appears to me to be quite old, but is very serviceable. The blade is just under 6" and the overall length is 10.25". Wood handles with brass fasteners. One side of the wood handle has a tiny circular surface ding that is , in my opinion, hardly noticeable, but in the interest of completeness I'll mention it and have included close-up photos of both sides of the handle. Nice tight brass guard with no wobble. I thnk the brass has a nice aged patina. I think the blade has been cleaned at some point but I'm not sure if it has ever been resharpened. I am no expert on cutlery. It appears to me to have the original factory edge, but as I said earlier I am no expert on cutlery and I could be wrong. No hits to the tip. Tang is factory engraved WILLIAM ROGERS SHEFFIELD ENGLAND in four lines. Very nice old Bowie probably made for export to the American market. I've included quite a few pics so you can determine the condition for yourself. Adults only, please. By bidding on this item you are stating it is legal for you to buy and own it.
