VINTAGE TOY WIND UP POODLEMUSICAL AUTOMATON REAL FURPLAYS a VIENNESE WALTZ A sweet toy dog for you or your doll-plays a familiar Vienna waltz, as he moves his head, as if with the music. The head doesn’t just move from side to side. It moves in a circle-up, left, down, right and up again. Real fur, possibly shearling, very soft, with a thick nap. This little dog is a poodle puppy, produced in the 1950's, when poodles and poodle toys were very popular. I had musical stuffed animals, when I was a little girl (I was born in 1948.), but I never had one that moved. This was a high-end toy. He even has an open mouth and a bright red tongue! Measures 7 1/2" high x 4 ½ wide" Plastic eyes and black nose. Original blue satin ribbon No tag CONDITION Very nice, vintage condition. Music box and mechanism work very well. The tune plays quickly and the head moves just as it’s supposed to. The color of the fur has faded some and is brighter on the ears. When found, there was only one ear and that was detached. I made two out of the one and sewed the ears on with old thread. You would never have known, if I weren’t honest enough to disclose it. The ribbon was stained in two places, with age.
